No, I would however recommend getting the K-edition so you can do some overclocking atleast. It only costs $10 or $20  more.

Not at all. I've got a 4670k and 780 and they're an excellent pair. I only have a Hyper 212 EVO ( bought a Noctua NH-D14 from NCIX) so the highest I can overclock right now is to 4.4.

Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow; Motherboard: MSI ZZ490 Gaming Edge; CPU: i7 10700K @ 5.1GHz; Cooler: Noctua NHD15S Chromax; RAM: Corsair LPX DDR4 32GB 3200MHz; Graphics Card: Asus RTX 3080 TUF; Power: EVGA SuperNova 750G2; Storage: 2 x Seagate Barracuda 1TB; Crucial M500 240GB & MX100 512GB; Keyboard: Logitech G710+; Mouse: Logitech G502; Headphones / Amp: HiFiMan Sundara Mayflower Objective 2; Monitor: Asus VG27AQ

No it would not. If you want to overclock your cpu, you would need an unlocked "K" cpu.

Sometimes I just think the word bottleneck should be banned from these forums :-(

Firstly you cant stop bottlenecks. Even a 3970x bottlenecks with a gtx 780 as a 4670k would do even if you oced it to 10ghz. The thing is that the bottleneck gets smaller but it never dissappears. If you didnt get that an example would be a radeon 6450 with a i3. The i3 bottlenecks and the evidence for this is that when i pair the 6450 with an i7 2600k the fps increases. That being said the bottleneck is very minor in your case so no worries for you. You are welcome to cry for less then 5 seconds.

a 6450 would bottleneck a I3 not the other way around. And a 3970x at 10GHz would be bottlenecked by a 780. there is more than one way for a bottleneck to occur.

This seems like a chemistry lesson. Theres always a limiting factor to the power or teh duration of the reaction. Limiting factor sounds way more "badass" then that other thing. Sorry ive been playing too much borderlands.

There might be at stock clocks if you add a second 780. For a single 780 you're fine.

Wouldn't bottleneck an old Sandy Bridge, so no.
