RightfulNerd

So last month I bought the aurora basic package with arena commander pass now I'm looking for a decent ship which is under £100 as the girlfriend is buying it for christmas "ledgendary" and can man more than one person :)

The Cutlass Black is 115 dollars and the Freelancer comes at 125. Don't know what that is in pounds, but those are the cheapest multi-crew ships.

By the way, the Herald also suits 2 persons, but has no weapons. It's an info runner.

Depends on what you want to do. The Freelancer is more focused on cargo hauling and a bit of mercantile stuff, while the Cutlass is a bit heavier in terms of weapons. It is seen by the public as a good ship for pirating practices because it has a docking collar and a tractor beam.

Then, there are the variants to these ships, but they come at a higher price.

I've currently got a Freelancer MAX, used to have a Cutlass Black. They're both REALLY nice ships. I'd honestly say that the cargo haulage will be a rather large part of the game in the Persistent Universe, so I'd probably go with a Freelancer :)

The cutlass black actually has pretty decent cargo capacity 150 units down from the 168 of the freelancer, not a real big difference I'd honestly suggest the cheaper and possibly more versatile Cutlass black considering you've not selected a role it leaves you with a few more offensive options

Also seems you have the basic pack be sure you look at them as stand alone ships and save that extra $15 :-)

I'd say Freelancer. I think it's going to be a solid money-maker with it's cargo space, and also it's beautiful.

Personally say stay with a single seat until the bigger ships are actually usable. I had a Taurus but It drove me crazy not to fly it.

I Have mostly Fighters since that's what AC is all about ATM.

Love my M50 and the Gladius looks like it can punch hard.  Pretty sure the Stats page is old and as always not correct.

It gets updated with every major sale or premiere, but it doesn't mean a thing. One the PU beta is on, the real balancing work will start and all stats will go to hell. For now when I pick ships, I pick the ones that fill the roles I like and that look cool. I try not to look at stats.

I'm also a fan of the Freelancer, I have the MAX myself for cargo hauling but I also have a super hornet for dogfighting so I don't have to worry about the gameplay crossover as much. IMO the cutlass looks nice when in flight but that landing gear is damn ugly! I nearly gaged when I saw it come down in the commercial

Avenger/325a isnt a bad option right now for under $100 (too lazy to bother with conversion to euros), if you can afford a Hornet at that price I would get it now as it is the best combat ready ship available as of now.
