So what do you think about components? Is it better to to have 970 in SLI than one 980? What about the motherboard? Is it better to go to ASUS camp?

Thank you for all the feedback!

Unless you are going to use more than three PCIe cards you are probably better off getting the 5820K instead of the 5930K because it is significantly less expensive and has very similar performance. You can use this money saved to upgrade graphics, storage, peripherals, PSU or whatever else you want for your PC.

I would go 5820k because the only difference is the clock speed with 5820k having 300 mhz less and 5820k got 12 less PCIE lanes, But you know man, 28 is enough for everything. Having 2 cards installed + soundcard it is still enough, even if you got a PCIE SSD would 28 be enough.

40 is only necesary if you will be getting 4 cards.

What about the PSU is it enough or is it too much?

It's completely overkill, you'll probably be fine with even a 600W PSU. I think it might be a better choice to pick up a quality 750W PSU than going with that 1000W RM series PSU.

I would personally recommend going with a single 980 and get another one down the road if you need the extra performance. It will draw less power than two 970:s, it will also generate less heat since it's only a single graphics card. Also if you plan on gaming on it sli can sometimes cause micro stuttering and isn't always supported.
