I have an old fujitsu 26 "screen and I think that I would like to upgrade to a G-Sync screen
I have looked at Asus VG248QE as a possibility after i wrote to jayztwocents to hear about his screens.. the screen is about 280$ and from his youtube channel he seems more than happy with them

The vg248qe isn't a g-sync monitor.... But if you want 144hz, then the acer gn246hl is an amazing monitor.

You also realy notice the difference between 60 and 144hz

so I guess that G-Sync is an add on, because when I google the G-Sync, vg248qe is one of the first screen that appears

The pg278q is a gsync monitor. The vg248qe isn't. You need to add an aftermarket module for gsync. Which the only way to get them is through something like amazon, or ebay, or win a contest for one.

do g-sync go under other names?

I never really seemed to be able to read it directly in the product spec

example:

ASUS claimed that for now, people who have the non-gsync version from VG248QE can get the add on. People who buy the VG248QE now will get G-Sync out of the box.

Friend I am going to tell you a story, in order for it to have gsync, it can only have display port. No gsync monitor has dvi, dsub, or hdmi. The vg248qe, has 2 of those extra 3.

No, a gsync monitor will state that is has gsync. The vg248qe is not a gsync monitor, nor is what I said to look at. If you want a gsync monitor, you will have to pay ~500$usd(I don't know anything about the currency in many other countries outside of russia, america, and canada)

The only one i really know of is the two that linus has had on his channel. The PG278Q which is a 1440p monitor and a 4k monitor (TN panel) that also had it. Out of those i'd say the 1440p PG278Q is better value for money because you really need a hardcore setup for 4k to get some good framerates...

those are the only two i know of, i hope it helps though!

its a really new technology so not many monitors have it. To my knowledge there are some slightly older monitors you can buy a gsync add on for, but they are expensive to begin with and so is the add on

i think i found somthing out.. if you want the Asus VG248QE screen with g-sync, the produc code is 90lmgg001q022b1c-gsync otherwise the produc code is just 90lmgg001q022b1c.. they are sold in the same price range and that is a bit confusing   :S

Acer XB270HA which has an 8 bit panel in contrast to the AOC's 6 bit panel. There's even a smaller, cheaper XB240HA if you are unsure about 1080P on a 27" screen.

144 Hz

8 Bit

ULMB

Best G-Sync monitor for the money, discussion over.

who cares...

This monitor originally doesn't come with G-Sync. But you can buy a G-Sync kit and do install it on VG248QE with help of this to this video.
