Help on picking parts for a new build.

LVMuscle

I am looking to add the i5 4690k and a good mother board for my future purchase of a good graphics card like a gtx 970 but, I just want an okay card that can also do ultra 1080 p for today's games not future games as; I will upgrade to a better graphic card later on. I'm not interested in sli so just basic but a good cheap mother board would be nice. The i5 4690k is 200 on Amazon so what can I build that will be the cheapest from then on.

The Gigabyte Gaming 5 motherboard is pretty good, I have it and it works with my hardware perfectly.

Kingston HyperX Fury RAM is high-end RAM as well.

Seagate or WD drives work fine.

GTX 660, 770, 970, or 980 if you have the money.

The processor you have figured out, good choice by the way. If you're looking to overclock it get an aftermarket cooler like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo.

For the gtx 660 is it recommended I get more memory for older games like 2012 2gigs or 3 gddr5

How bout this? 600 is way low for an unlocked i5 build but I'll do my best. Do you want a GPU? It sounds like you have later plans for one. I won't include one for now but you can add one if you feel needed.

I suggest you look at my build as I put a few cheaper things in there that are perfectly good (case and PSU) and it also allows you some room for a couple extra fans for cooling. @SAV1OR 's build is pretty good though.
