no such thing as "best"

Just use windows Defender on 8.1 or Miscorsft security essentials for 7/xp

and MalwareBytes along with it or the PRO version (totally worth it)

Both Free and working

never had a virus/malware infect my system with that. just scan once a month or when u think u need too.
