Starting small IT business in neighborhood. Tips?

It goes pretty much as the title says. I'm planning on helping out with people's computers in my neighborhood. I'm looking for some tips. What programs should I have or use for some basic problems. I couldn't find where to post this, so this looked like the right place. Another thing I'm asking is basic hardware I should have. I'm decently good with tech, but maybe some helpful equipment. I've built a computer before, but that was very much for my uses. Any tips are helpful, thank you!

Chances are 90% of the work you get will be malware removal. Be very familiar with the Windows operating system.
