PC for graphic design, programming, and game making?

Hello everybody, I wanted a little help choosing a good computer for graphic designing in Photoshop, animating in Flash, programming in PHP and other web languages, and Java and Android games. I want to spend the less I can and have good performance. How much RAM will I be needing? Good CPU that can handle many programs open? SSD or HDD? Do I need a good graphics card? Linux Or Windows?

Thank you! Anything helps :)

I'd recommend 16GB of RAM for high resolution photo editing and graphic design, CPU would depend on budget, graphic design and Photoshop can use as many cores available so on a tighter budget an AMD 8-core FX or if you can afford it then an i7. SSD boot drive and HDD storage drive would be recommended, and a good graphics card isn't really needed if you're not gaming.

Windows.

As for programming, I don't find it necessary to have a very good GPU.

Especially for PHP, it's really not necessary.

As for photoshop:

I think you will want a SSD for OS and installing at least Flash and PS (As those are usually not started up very quickly on a HDD), but also a 1 or 2 TB HDD for mass storing (especially your Photoshop) files.

I'm on a $500 budget. Indo graphic design, and programming as a hobbie so I'm not looking to have the best of the best on everything, but have decent performance. Thank you all for the welcome :)

Hello everybody I wanted to ask you if this Desktop PC (Dell Inspiron 3000) suits what's I wanted for. I want to use this PC for programming Java (android apps) and Graphic designing (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash) and maybe later some 2D or 3D game making, also occasionally gaming. I like this PC because it has 8GB RAM, what I think is a good CPU (Intel core i5). Is this too much? Or is it not what I need?

Here is a link of the Dell page: http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/productdetails/inspiron-3847-desktop/fdcwrt201h

Integrated graphics.... it will be pretty bad for gaming unless you put something like a 750/Ti in there

Gaming and Photoshop could get difficult with the Intel Graphics. The other stuff looks pretty solid.

I once had one of these, now I've got this.

Don't forget a copy of Windows.

$100 profit for Dell... that's not surprising. If anything it's low.

Windows is cheaper for OEMs...

Not for us though, so it should be included in the price of building the PC.

linus has many videos on how to build your own PC. Once the CPU is in its like lego (just don't step on the parts) :D
