{us} msi r9 290 for $230

michael52399

here is the link http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127774&cm_re=r9_290-_-14-127-774-_-Product

this is a great price for this card, if i had the extra cash i would buy it myself.  :(

edit in most game reviews that i have seen it is within a few fps of the 970. If you do visa checkout than you can get it for $209 witch is excellent price to performance ratio.

No wonder AMD isn't making money, how the hell can they afford to sell a top tier GPU for less than $300 and give away a bunch of games with it.

Oh wow, that is an incredibly good deal. I don't know how the MSI cooler in particular performs, but the card is a beast, especially for 230$......

Well, if competition has better offer they really have to sell it for no profit or for lost. Better sell it for lost than not sell it at all (to clear the stock in preparation for new product).

Does this particular card not come with free games? I would be interested in getting it if I can get Star Citizen with it.

If I'm not mistaken all R9 series cards come with AMDs never settle deal.

Do not  as I  do, and  not  as I say. Instead do as you may..

They probably make some money on it though, the miners payed for most of the designing costs and costs for the manufacturing plant already... They already sold a lot more then they expected. A bit of silicon doesn't cost as much.

And even if tey don't make a lot on it they will have to lower the pricing on those things because nividia simply has/had much better high end performance/dollar atm...

Thank you. It does look like it on the AMD website. I just need to resist until the new AMD GPU's come out and see more price drops.

*Heavy breathing*

My A-10 6800K might bottleneck it, though...
