Because it makes them look like they're trying.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

Interesting. I would have never thought it would be so popular. I suppose good for Microsoft for thinking of it. My wonder is how much of a demand was anticipated for it. Is it sold out because they didn't make many?

My guess is that Microsoft didn't make many. However, lines forming in stores, shows that there is a true demand for the device.

I can say the same with so many things.

I can perfectly game, and enjoy my games, with a membrane laptop style keyboard (which I personally love), and standard (but good) wireless 1000 DPI laser mouse. Yet, people on this very forum, sees it as an absolute must that you need to get a mouse with lights, and must have '20 light zones', and 600000 DPI, and mechanical keyboards where each key is hand crafted and forged from the top of the mountains of the heavens, and over the top lights everywhere, where also, if you flip the keyboard over and press it down, the computer will register all keys being pressed on the desk.

Is it really needed? No. Is it a luxury device/peripheral? Yes!

Exactly. The hypocrisy in this place is amazing.聽

Why do we need Titans and water-cooling and Caselabs cases? JUST BECAUSE. ITS AWESOME. The same reasoning (or lack thereof) applies to other products as well. You don't need fitness bands, smartphones or lightweight shoes to do much of anything. But it doesn't mean some people don't like and want them and make use of them.

I have two hockey sticks worth 300 each. Do I need them? Not really. 150 to 300 doesn't bring much differences, but hey; a stick this light and well suited to how I play is worth paying for even if I could theoretically do the same job with a 40 dollar crappy composite.聽

"Enthusiasts" are a funny bunch. People will spend hundreds if not thousands on a system for water-cooling for example, then they'll go and ask why people spend equal amounts on a RC car or model planes or car parts. Life lesson = different people do different things with their time and their money. You not seeing a need doesn't mean the need isn't there.聽

For those of us who are code monkeys and are forced into 16-hour work days on nothing but sugar and caffeine, I can see these being wonderful motivators. If I get in the zone, I can code for 4 hours straight and not notice the clock ticking by.

I am an unhealthy, certified fatass but that does look neat if/when it's cheaper I might just get one, provided someone makes it work on Android of course.

I'm surprised that there is such a demand for this. I wasn't really expecting any "smart-thing-that-you-wear-on-your-wrist" to be a huge hit especially considering (I think) every single one of them on the market are $150+.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that its the only smart-wrist-device made by/endorsed by one of the big three (Microsoft, Google, Apple) that is cross-platform.
