Windows 8.1 Acting Strange

Hello,

I'm having a few minor issues with Windows 8.1 64x and can't seem to figure out what the issue is. I reinstalled my OS a week ago, problems persist. This is a genuine copy, downloaded from the Windows store with a genuine key. Quite experienced with PC's, though this has me stumped.

Windows Update will not remember my settings, within half an hour of selecting "Install Updates Automatically or using the Let Me Choose option, if forgets and starts asking me again.

I have the taskbar set to auto hide, but it rarely does and often will not go down when there is nothing opened to keep it up.

When pulling to the bottom right of the screen to pull up Settings, Control Panel is always highlighted. Even if I close that little menu after highlighting something else, it always is.

I've never had these problems with Windows 8.1 up until a month ago, and I can't seem to fix them.
All updates are installed. System has been reinstalled. I've run full scans with Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware and BitDefender to no avail. And I've tried run the CMD windows error check.

Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks for reading and your help in advance.

when you re-installed, did you just repair or fresh install?

Fresh install.

Only thing that's the same is that I'm using the same User Account, via Microsoft.

maybe is sync some settings back? try making a local account and see if the issues are still there.

I don't bother using a microsoft account on 8.1.

I just created a new account, which fixed the issues I'm having.

It seems that my account is the problem, any idea how I can fix it without needing to create a new account?
