My friend did computer science at uni and now works for HSBC global HQ using nothing but a 13" macbook pro :) so I would agree your rig is overkill especially considering your age (GCSEs/A Level) but there is nothing wrong

My friend has a 60hz 27" 1080p monitor but SLI 780tis

4 980's isn't really worth it, if you're looking into things like video editing or other graphical/image programs, you are better off with a workstation card like a quadro alongside a regular card for gaming (not sli). But if you do want to get a 980, 2 way-sli is the best config, then when you go 3-way you start to get compatibility issues

You have a 5.1GHz 3770k and a 212 Evo for cooling F**king bulls**t xD

That was true at the time, see my profile for most up to date specs. Honestly though, my CPU and cooling was old news a year ago

Even with a custom loop how the hell did you hit 5.1GHz? Did you bribe intel for their highest binned chip that they keep under high security and blast proof walls? xD

Nope, I mostly do web dev stuff these days, but at heart I'm a CPU guy. I can tell you a lot more about CPU's than most other people on the forum and once wrote a 12+ page overclocking guide. But that was a long time ago, don't even know what happened to that guide. Interestingly enough, the chip pretty much caps at around 5.1. Any higher is difficult to reach without excessive voltage and the highest I ever got stable was 5.3

Computer studies at A Level isn't all that intensive at all. I used to do it and the most you will have time for is a 2D game/project. Trying to go 3D will take a lot longer than a year. I even asked my teacher if it was worth even trying to do anything on the GPU since my project was going to be like Geometry wars but have Physics based enemies that can affect your flight, grab onto you and throw you off course with their inertia etc.

So yeah, It's overkill for now

Setup: i5 4670k @ 4.2 Ghz, Corsair H100i Cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB Ram @ 1600 Mhz, MSI Z87-GD65 Motherboard, Corsair GS700 2013 edition PSU, MSI GTX 770 Lightning, Samsung EVO 120 SSD + 2TB&1TB Seagate Barracudas, BenQ XL2411T Monitor, Sennheiser HD 598 Headphones + AntLion ModMic 4.0

One of my main Rigs at my house actually uses two $3000 Titan Z's (Actually they were $3500 I think), Dual Intel E5-2697 V3's, $500 MoBo, Best Corsair everything, probably cost like $10,000-$15,000 including Displays. I use it to play Star Citizen so it is like 99% wasted most of the time.
