so I run battlefield 4 on low/medium will I have any benefit If I upgrate from 4 to 8gb ram!

Might get a few extra frames, nothing to get excited about. It's mostly just going to make your general experience in Windows with multiple apps better. However 8GB is the ideal amount of RAM for a gamer, so it's a good idea to upgrade anyway.

FYI: A GPU upgrade can help you get more frames/better visuals. What do you have currently?

Yeah I have HD6850 but I am switching to Gigabyte 970 windforce somewere this year I know I will need to upgrate to 8gb sometime coz of bottleneck I am just asking should I buy it now? btw CPU i5 2320 3.00

Increasing your ram capacity, and speed (if you're running on something like 1333) will yield slight benefits immediately. as TopplesS said, however, it will improve your windows experience overall, and 8g is the sweet spot for a gaming system.

 

In other words, it's a small, but viable (and recommended) option.

upgrade to a 1600mhz ram 2x4gb cl9 or if you want even the 2x8gb if you really do want.

Getting more ram doesn't really raise fps that much. But it will make game run smoother and reduce fps drops.

There might be some improvement, particularly to load times, but it sounds like your CPU and video card are more likely to be limiting your performance than your RAM.

Surprised you're having so much trouble, but yeah, go ahead with the RAM upgrade. Generally system RAM doesn't influence what video settings you can turn on/off, though, especially when you've got a video card with 4 GB onboard.

 

I wouldn't think a GTX 970 would have any problem with the game up to 1440p and mostly maxed details, and the i5-2320 is probably faster than my overclocked i5-750 that I play the game with.

With more RAM you should be able to play longer without having to quit the game and start it up again. I would play three rounds of BF3 and the fourth round would be laggy, until I added more RAM.
