So Close Yet So Far

bossman111

I was so damn happy when I heard that the package containing my two EVGA Superclocked 980 GTX's arrived at my house....

After waiting for about a month for it to arrive I couldn't believe that it was finally here...and that I could finally finish my Overkill Gaming build :D

My hands trembled with excitement as I slowly clawed away at the box.....My eyes lit up like that of a childs' on Chirstmas Morning as I bursted the last piece of scotch tape holding the box down.......Drool poured out of my mouth as I could no longer control the motor senses of that part of my body...... and finally after lifting the last and final box flap.....So beautiful....So wonderful was this feeling.....It was...it was..............

A BOX OF F****ING FRUIT SNACKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So Amazon screwed up my order >_<  and after having waited nearly a month to get them because they were out of stock....I couldn't get them....And to make matters worse....They ran out of stock again..... So I still can't get them.....

Sooooo yeah.... Just thought I'd share this story with everyone, cuz well I have nothing else to do as I can't play on my new gaming rig as I still don't have the GPU's Q_Q

Hey... at least it was fruit snacks. You can munch on their (likely) artificial fruitiness while you await your 980's. I mean... you could've gotten a box of dirt. that wouldn't have been much fun :(

Haha. I can imagine some random stresed mom with three little kids that are crying for their fruit snacks. She opens her package from amazon, relived that all the crying will soon finally stop. However, instead of her 150 piece jumbo Costco size box of Welch's fruit snacks, she opens her box just to find her package is filled with two Gtx 980s instead. Oh the disappointment

If they are haribo sugar free then don't eat them! Unless you want diarrhea with enough thrust to lift you off of the toilet.

muh specs

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Well the first time I ordered it on amazon, they said it had just run out of stock and I would have to wait a while to get them..... So that was pretty lame but I decided to soldier on O_O

Man when this thing finally came I was just soooo.....Well I actually kept opening and closing the box hoping that somehow the GTX980's would magically appear after I opened it back up.......

This is the best and worst thing I have ever read. Best because it's hilarious. Worst because I can only imagine how gutting that would be, I would curl up into a ball I'm sure.

That means that someone probably ordered a box of snacks and instead got two 970s. If they know what a graphics card is, I bet they're feeling quite happy.

But amazon customer support is usually pretty decent, so you will be able to get a refund, and it might be possible to have a replacement, unless they completely empty their stock (which is possible).
