Monster Intel Extreme, RAID 5, 32GB, GTX 980 client build - advice needed

Just curious, did your client come in to you and tell you that is what he wants to do with his machine as well as he'll want to run on RAID or did you mentioned RAID to him?

What is his budget? AT $3,500 that is a lot for a build, I doubt that is your client's actual total. Not trying to be in a negative way, but my guess for your client's budget is probably $2k or less.

Does he need OS as well as other stuffs?

The asus x99 deluxe, only the sata ports controlled by the x99 pch ports 1-6 supports raid the rest does not.

asus x99 deluxe can only do 3-way sli or cfx.

A few suggestions.

The new Swiftech H240-X is an excellent cpu cooler and will also look very good in the build.

An M.2 ssd will offer much better performance. WD Red for the RAID array along with an LSI RAID card to run the thing.

An EVGA G2 850W psu. More than enough power for the build including more gpu and overclocking.

A single gpu to start. A second, even a third can be added if there is need. From the usage description a single GTX 980 is likely enough.
