New Gaming Build - Thinking about Radeon R295x2, suggestions? $2250 budget

Hello,

MY BUDGET IS $2550 NOT $2250 SORRY FOR TYPO.

I have a 1080p monitor, when I can afford it in around a month or two I am going to get a 4k monitor so I need this build to be able to handle 4k. I am not going to do a multi monitor setup, just 1 4k monitor.

I already have a 2tb hard drive so I only need to buy the ssd, thats why there is no hard drive in the build.

BUILD: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/JchnNG

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

GallioneIT

dual 980's not x2

i was looking into that but i can't find 980s for less than $600 each, I'm looking to spend around $1100 or less on the gpu's.

Are you set on the 750D? there's definatly other options in that price rance. Enthoo comes to mind. You could save a little by getting 2 290s (x's if you can) with god coolers. Other than that, It looks good.

I could be very wrong

Hands down dual 970s for your build. 980s are a waste of money in general. Almost double the price of a 970 for ~20% more performance.

No I'm not but it seems to be the best case for the price.

I was thinking about that. Any recommendations on what type of 970s?

Gigabyte, no debate on that.

And yes that PSU is way overkill for 2 970s. Get an EVGA 750G2.

look at my build it is overkill but would be amazing for 4k for 1080p it is 3times the mount of power you need

3 way SLI over 2 way doesn't provide nearly as much of a benefit as 2 way does over a single card. Stick with 2 cards.

just a couple q's if you can answer would be greatly appreciated.

On new egg there are bad reviews on that mobo, what r your thoughts on it?

The fan cooler for cpu why did u choose that over water cooling?

why only 2 fans?

Is that power supply enough to run 3 970s?

thanks,

gallioneit

1. It's a decent board for what you're doing with it

2. Personally I don't believe in water cooling. I'd rather spend the extra effort to mount a good air cooler then worry about things like leaks or pump failures with a water cooler.

3. Fans come with the case too

4. Yes, but for some overclocking headroom I'd bump it up to an 850G2

Don't get why you buy extra 4 fans though?

You got 3 of those same fans already installed in the case, yeah I know that they don't look same at all but you still don't need 4 of them since you're going with 280mm Radiator, you're gonna have to put it at top. Then you will have 3 rooms(2 front 1 back) left for 140mm fans and 2 for 120mm fans at bottom.

I don't really think that you would need more than 860W for a 970SLI build. That would "theoretically" be enough even for 980 3-SLI.

My build is pretty much the same except my GPU sucks. Same case, same fans, H110 instead of X61(tho I would get X61 if it was possible), a tad worse CPU and MB, little slower version of the same memory but I'm still pretty happy with it.
