Any Recommended Changes

ihowardy

For starters I have no idea how I copy and paste the PCPartPicker link as I struggled completely for some reason. Secondly is there any recommended changes you'd make to this build and if so could you please explain your reasoning, thanks in advance.

super flower makes some of the best PSUs around. At that price it might not be the best value though.

Power supply is in case of SLI in the future and was unsure of the power consumption of an overcooked CPU and two GPU's in SLI

As for the i5 over the i7 is there no noticeable difference in gaming applications and general computer usage?

overclocked, not overcooked haha

Here is how I would change it if I were you:

Change to Antec Kuhler H20 because it's currently on sale and just as good as the corsair water cooling unit

Memory doesn't really matter. I chose kingston simply because their fury series looks amazing in person.

Video card I changed to the MSI 970 because there is no point in paying 20 quid more for that Asus. The color scheme also matches unlike other cheaper 970s. The cooler on the MSI 970 is just as top notch as the Asus. Very quiet and cool.

PSU is excellent, that super flower one seems like the best bet at that price in the UK. Super Flower Golden Green PSUs are absolutely fantastic, check out the johnny guru reviews.

I would maybe change the case though because a S430 is a budget case while your build is not. Seems a little out of place IMO.

Thanks for that advice, really helpful. With regards to the s340 I really like its clean aesthetics and also the simplicity of the design allows me to remove parts and paint them incredibly easy without making the case look strange. If you know any other good clean cases though I'm more than happy to listen to any suggestions people have.

There's generally little to no difference between the i5 and i7 for gaming.

What's the system being used for? Budget?

System is used for university work and leisure. Gaming and streaming TV will be a major part of the build but also content creation such as basic video editing but nothing to the extent of master 3d renderers more just presentations and educational videos

Yeah I know I tried to quote but my tablet is all over the place so switched to my phone, sorry about that.

Budget is £1000 with £100 extra available if necessary and that includes OS but no peripherals.

Thanks in advance and the phone version of this website seems to be performing much more to my favour:)

EDIT- I should point out that motherboard has not already been purchased but the colour scheme is my preference but I'm willing to change is persuaded to by better features:)

If you are having trouble quoting, you can instead tag a member @ihowardy
