WD Red Or Green For Backing Up Stuff

UltraNeonGaming

Which one of these drives is better for backing up my very important files and lots of family photos.

I will put one of these drives' 2TB version in my new rig with a MX100 512GB for os and some games like BF4 and a 1TB Black for storing everything else that doesn't fit on the SSD. I need a drive to back both of these drives up.

I won't be running RAID 1 anytime soon so that's why I wanted to know if the Red is good for non raid operation and for backing up.

I know they will be in the same conditions as the other drives that could fail but all the drives in my system are next to a pressure optimised fan to cool them.

Red or Green 2TB?

Thanks!

You have a thread for this already: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/241317-what-hdd-to-get/#entry3313269

As I mentioned, Reds are better than Greens in every way. The question is just whether or not you'd pay more for the better built drive.

Yeah, I wanted to get some more replies from people since I had the main reason I started that thread sorted all out and I wanted to talk just about this
