New $1100-$1200 build planning. Suggestions and help!

Hey guys. I got interested in PCs earlier this and have almost saved up enough money to build my first. I am going to be gaming, internet surfing and a little bit of photo and video editing. Here is the pcpartpicker link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/K2wGdC

Also: It is going to be a red/black themed build. Also let me know if the NZXT x41 is worth it over the 212 evo for looks and performance!

Thanks for the help!

Get a second SSD so you can RAID 0 them (it's simple to do, just find a video). You can put games and programs on it and they can load SUPER fast! Also, get faster ram (like 1866)

Nice build, except storage. That Kingston SSD has very bad flash and Hitachi drive may be OK but I would rather go with Seagate or WD. Otherwise it looks good. You may go for GTX 970 but at this point when R9 290 is so cheap there is not that much difference in performance for its price.

That is not necessary.

No real need for raid and if it crashes you loose everything, RAM speed isn't going to make a huge difference unless he is running an APU. You won't notice the difference between 1600 and 1866.

PC: Corsair C70 Arctic, FX 9370, Corsair H80i, Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3, Corsair Vengence 16gb, Palit JetStream GTX 970, OCZ Vertex 4 128gb and Western Digital Blue 1Tb + 500gb, Antec Gamer 520w

Peripherals: Logitech G19 and SteelSeries Sensei RAW

Toshiba L50-A: i7 4700mq, 8gb, 1TB HDD, GT 740M 2gb

An AIO will provide for a much nicer looking build. Especially with the lovely H440 case. The X41 is excellent, but a bit pricy. You could also consider the H80i or H100i. But the 212 EVO is the best value.

G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory is a less expensive memory kit with better performance. It keeps to the red/black theme.
The Hitachi hdd only has a 32MB cache. Better performance would be available from a 64MB cache drive like Seagate ST1000DM003.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
