Asus Strix 970 Watercooling

So my friend got a gtx 970 strix on launch day, but he has been having coil whine problems, he was wondering if watercooling it would stop the coil whine. He already has a kraken g10 that he used with his last graphics card.

no it wouldnt.

BUT he could try enabling V-sync or fps limiter because it's usually only with high frame rates.

i don't really think coil whine is a reason to RMA but he can try...

No coil whine does not come from the motors, it comes from the electrical components on the PCB.

He is not getting very high frame rates (usually around 40 fps on medium settings) because he is gaming on triple 1440p monitors

He is going to be getting another gtx 970 for christmas he just did not have the money right when the strix was released, Also the games he play are not very demanding. and the games that are more demanding he only uses one monitor and uses the other 2 for websites and other applications. He just wishes that you could do dual monitor gaming instead of having at least three monitors
