Kill coil for Reservoir ?

So it's my first time building an open loop system and so far it's working great my friend who helped me build it said I may need a kill coil for the Algae is this really necessary?

If you used premixed coolant there is no need to add anything to your loop. It has the additives already in it.

It's only useful if you're using plain distilled water. Using a premade, specific coolant removes the need for one.

Although it is slightly off topic, I would recommend using a kill coil and pure distilled water over a premix. Anything you add to the liquid can and will cause gunk over time, albeit slowly in most cases.
