A question concerning fans for my first build!

Bigsky108

I finally decided to make the jump on my first rig and wanted to do it right, so my question is.

I am considering replacing the stock fans with the Noctua SSO2 F-A14 IPPC 2000 IP67 PWM fans. I was going to buy 5 of them for my H440 build and use 1 in the rear as exhaust, 2 on top as exhaust and 2 in front as an intake matched with my Kraken x61 in front.

Would these be sufficient or too loud? I'm not to worried about a little fan noise and I planned on buying the Grid+ from NZXT to control the fans if needed. Would I be better going with the same model fans but put 3 120mm up top as exhaust or 2 140mm fans? Or would I benefit from 4 of the 140mm fans up front in a push pull with my x61?

I have bought most my build by now. I'm just trying to figure out the last quirks before I install all my parts, and money is not such an issue for me to be honest. I know the price of these are high.

Thank you for your help guys!

Loud will be subjective. That said, Noctua fans are solid, yet quiet. Not the quietest, but they are among the best.

Personally, I don't like having a rad on my intakes, but it is a viable option.

140mm will move more air, spinning at lower RPM's, so i'd opt for the largest fans your case can fit, you likely won't benefit from a push/pull config, very few setups actually do.

don't bother with the 3x 120mm in the top, have 2x 140mm because 3 fans in the top just means more exhausting air which means even more negative pressure.

Them fans are brilliant and won't be loud at all once you turn the rpm down.

Also don't bother with push/pull on your AIO, its just more money and noise for very little performance gain.

Seconded, Push-Pull configurations make almost 0 difference until you start getting into the extremely thick radiators, like 60-80mm+ thick.

Thanks so much for the quick reply guys :) The only other question would be,

Would it be better have have my AIO rad on the intake so it's getting cool air from the front or on the top exhaust and recieivng the warmer air?

doesn't really matter, the temperature difference will be negligible.
