Advice :^)!

MakeVio

Hey guys, I am new to this forum. And I figured, hey since I am looking around to buy a new headset, why not ask here! So basically I saw the review on the Hyperx Cloud by linus, looked pretty nice. But I am wondering if that really is better for me in the long run. Usually I prefer over the ear (on ear hurts after 2 hours of gaming.. :/)

Really what I am looking for is just clear sound, I like to listen to songs as loud as possible sometimes just as much as the next guy. Don't care at all for bass enhancements... I would if the earpieces canceled noise out a bit. And if the mic didn't pick up noise from across my house lol. So what do you guys think? My budget is probably around 150. I am currently a user of logitech g930. Lasted me a while, but finally the earpieces are flaking, and the metal pieces are becoming weak and beginning to crack. So let me know what you guys might recommend. I also have to say no turtle beach because well... I simply hate them lol. I want to be able to hear my music full blast without the people I am talking to on skype call also hearing it lol.

Thanks so much, and I am glad to be apart of this great community!!

they make the best of the best but get STUDIO quality headsets only. the Sonys are in a tier of their own when it comes to doing accurate and rich sound tho

The HyperX Cloud is pretty good for what you get - definitely closer to headphones than most headsets.

Going closed for gaming isn't your best choice.
Rolling with something like the HD518 and a modmic would
turn out to be a better choice then using a closed studio monitor.

my studio headphones are desk only pretty much, the closed studio design monitor design doesn't take anything from my gaming needs

May not take away if its closed, but an open headphone adds too an experience.

Have you tried open backed headphones for gaming?

It's like, playstation 1 is good for gaming, if you've never seen or played on playsttion 2 (and so on with 3 and 4)

I'd assume you don't have any experience using open backs then. Sound leaking in are a bit of overrated paranoia of open back headphones. Sounds leaking out is more of a problem than sounds leaking in, and even this is only applicable in a quiet environment (like gaming at 2 AM with a roommate sleeping, then yeah, that roommate is gonna give you hell)

Oh well, it's your choice and your experience. If you're good with closed back, then it's okay.
