Low Amount of Darkness = Pitch Black

Go to solution Solved by 123456789qwertyu,

I messed around with my AMD Catalyst Control Panel settings for like 20 minutes and got a moderately acceptable mix between actually seeing and being blinded.

I am on a 7600 with the latest drivers 14.9 excluding beta

Windows 8.1 64 bit

I have a FX-8300

I really don't know my bios version. But I am on an Asus Board.

I have been noticing recently that darkness in games is REALLY like REALLY dark.

In some games its fine if I go in fullscreen but in most games especially in Java games I could not find any fix.

I have two monitors one being a TV from LG and one being an Analog monitor from Dell.

And they both seem to do the same/similar thing.

In games where I'm in a cave or something its just Black. Unless there is some sort of low light source I can't see as if the texture was just black.

The thing with the screenshots I can't tell if its dark for everyone or not.

And I took a picture of Minecraft because it was the easiest.

(And yes the brightness slider in all games is up on bright

The monitors brightness is on 100)

I've gone through every setting on my monitor

nothing changed

Also you can try disabling Smart Contrast ot whatever it's called on LG. It turnes up brightness on bright scenes and dims the lights on the dark ones. It's annoying during movies and many games. I turned it off years ago on my Asus and it works perfectly ever since then.

Its the combination of the monitors and graphics. blacks are hard to produce. Try adjusting. And you mean a HP7600? How about a model on the monitors?

The TV I got working but the monitor (On VGA so it can have a higher refresh rate) is what I play on.
