Go to solution Solved by JoaoPRSousa,

So many replies in so little time! :D

Thanks for the welcome, I've been a long time viewer, just started joining in with the community.

Anyways so the G2 is the one to go for it seems.

Any thoughts on this one? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0045L4BNW/?tag=pcpapi-20

Both the 750w and 850w models.

Thanks!

The XFX models are still good, but they are only 80+ Bronze. I would go for the G2 or the XFX XTR ;)

Hello!

I'm working on a new system (I'm in dire need of one) and I'm a bit stuck on picking out a PSU. The system is fairly high-end and a 750w PSU will be sufficient. I hope to eventually have two GTX970s running, so 750w would be a bit overkill. I am keeping in mind that I may upgrade to an AMD GPU when those come out, so I want a nice buffer in case those are power-hogs. I don't care about modular vs non-modular, since my case should have enough room to handle the extra cables (Phantom 410 in case its helpful to know). It is always a nice option to have though. I've budgeted about $60-$90 USD for the PSU.

I was checking this one out - http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-110b10750vr

The reviews seem pretty good, thoughts?

Any suggestions/thoughts are greatly appreciated!

"Normandy" i7 4790K - GTX 970 - Phantom 410 (Gun metal) - Z97 Extreme4 (asrock) - 128GB Crucial SSD - 1TB WD HDD - H60 Refurb. - 7 case fans | G710+ Keyboard, G230 Headset, Acer GN246HL Monitor.

Quick thoughts on system: I7 is extremely quick and I'm glad I spent the extra for hyper-threading. I regret my decision to get the GTX 970, it has horrible coil whine. There isn't any excuse for this terrible whine I and others are having. I HIGHLY recommend a 144hz monitor. Future Improvements/upgrades: Rubber fan mounts, basic speakers, more ram (for a total of 16gb), replace GPU.

144hz is love. 144hz is life. I like to submit unfinished posts then do about 20 edits. I like the Night Theme too.

I kinda recommend that one better than the bronze one.

that one is with a fsp aurum series which I really like and is pretty good or was it the fsp raider that 750 supernov.

but I recommend the G2 one since it's made by superflower.

(not sure if the g1's are made by superflower too but those are kinda bonkers).

G1's are based off of Aurums.

If so then they should be good. but I though they were other FSP models which were kinda bonkers and the supernova nex 650/750 were by aurum series which are good specially for the price.

If you really want a superflower unit, you can just straight off the bat get a Leadex 750W

You can't get Superflower units in North America (As far as I know) so it would have to be an EVGA or Rosewill etc. The G2 is a better choice with double the warranty.

AFAIK EVGA sub 1000W are not made by Superflower. Maybe look at Rosewill or spend a little more on Seasonic X-750W?

The 750W and 850W G2 are both Superflower units.

The entire G2 lineup is made up of Super Flower units.
