Tips for picking spesific items

Hello folks. I'm asking for help of what parts I should change to. I intend to use this computer to : Gaming, rendering, streaming
The budget is about 800 dorras
The parts I want to change is the PSU, because the 6-pin connector is very short, and I have to place it over the graphic card which is not very pleasent. And also how many wattage I need for the build.

I got a suggestion for getting an Asus GTX 970 Strix 4GB for my build.

I'm going to change the stock cooling for a Corsair H100i water cooler Is it going to fit in my case? the HAF 912
Im absolutely going to change the hard drive, but to which?

This is what my computer consists of :

Processor : AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz with Stock Cooling

Motherboard : Asus M5A97 R2.0

Case : Cooler Master - Mid Tower HAF 912

Graphics Card : ATI Radeon HD 4850

Power Supply : OCZ 600W Semi Mod

SSD : ShineDisc 128GB - Not installed, going to use it for OS

Hard Drives : WD 500GB / Pretty old ones and they're dying!

You guys rock, thanks for answering :)

My recommendation? Take a look at this before opting to go with the GTX 970 STRIX.

Pretty much sums up what I need, I'm going to get a 2TB hard drive just because I can.

I'm not sure if I want to get a better PSU for future builds.

So corsair it is for the cooling.

Allright, I read that trough and I belive that some customer services are a pile of sewage. You should try to argument about something in Norway, you will never win anything. I'm going to have to go for the Asus one, since multiple people have suggested me it. But I'm sure nothing will happen with the card, since the warrenty is different here in Norway.

But hey, my responsibilty. If the card fails, i'm going to vouch for you :)

More terabytes. must have all the terabytes! :P

Keep this in mind when you ask this question: is there really such a thing as future proof? if you ask me, that's a no, as even as hardware is released, the next iteration is very likely in development, effectively making it somewhat obsolete the moment it was purchased. if it's going to work well now, it'll likely last you until it warrants replacement.

Corsair does have some solid AIO's.

I don't know how the warranty laws work in norway, but here, Asus is legally bound by the warranty that they offer. It took pulling the BBB (Better Business Bureau) into the matter to have it resolved. If you have to deal with Asus for the replacement/warranty repair of the card, be warned that it is a very distinct possibility that this could be you (regardless of local bylaws). If you deal with the retailer, however, this may very well be a different story, and I can not attest to that. I can, however, attest to EVGA's support, nothing but positive things to say about them.

Well I wish i had more money then I could buy something like the R9 295x :P

But the Asus card will do... I'll just have to wait and expect something posetive. If the card fails I'm going to switch to a EVGA card :D

Thanks for your response, i'll have that in mind :)

Hi, @Holydays

All components, suggested by @FearMe, seem pretty good to me. You should know that the WD Blue drive is a reliable drive and would do a great job, but unfortunately goes up to 1 TB. If you need more space, I recommend you to check the WD Black, which is the high performance WD drive, offers better warranty conditions and goes up to 4 TB. I leave you more details below.

Hope this helps

Thank you!

I must tell you that the WD Black series is really loud though. I have a WD Black and I would gladly trade it for a new silent (inferior) HDD if I had the possibility. It's just so loud. :(
