Do you think it is worth it for me to upgrade my Gigabyte 780 windforce to a 980? i want to get the most out of upcoming games like Farcry4 and was wondering if this upgrade would make much difference for 1080p? Thanks for any help :)

Personally, not really, but if the AC:U system recommendations are anything to go by, drop all your cash on 980s :P

/sarcasm

But seriously it''s enough

Specs: CPU: AMD FX 6300 Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A DS3P RAM: HyperX Fury 16GB 1866MHz GPU: MSI R9 270 OC edition Case: Sharkoon VS3-S SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB HDD: 1TB Caviar Blue PSU: Corsair CX500W

*If I say something that seems offensive, please don't take it seriously, it was most likely meant as a joke/sarcastically*

not really worth it IMO. a 780 is already borderline overkill for 1080p unless you have a 120hz+ monitor.

INTEL CORE I5 4670K | NVIDIA GTX 980 | NOCTUA NH-L9i | GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-SLI | KINGSTON 120GB V300

I don't think an upgrade of only one generation would be worth it, especially given that the 980 is about as powerful as the 780ti. If you really want to upgrade, buy another 780 and SLI those bad boys.

I've built 3 PC's, but none for myself... In fact, I'm using an iMac that my dad bought for me as my desktop. Awkward...

Please don't say "SSD drive." By doing so, you are literally saying "Solid State Drive Drive" and causing my brain cells to commit suicide. The same applies to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

Stay with your 780.

Just wait for future gens. (when the 780 gets outdated)

with 4k DSR @ 1080p and everything on max I can even make CS:GO get down to 60fps with 980MSI gaming.

I got 980MSI Gaming, anything you want me to test ?? maybe 4k DSR /1080p in some games so you can compare??

I run with 4770k.

Does CS:GO look amazing on 4k? I am only running on max AA and everything with CS:GO with a 1920X1200 60Hz monitor and looks nice. Will it look much better in 4K? or even in 1440P?

Is there a big visual difference between 1440P vs 1920X1200?

That depends. It depends on what you consider acceptable. It depends what you mean by "get the most out of upcoming games like Farcry4"...

So you mean CS:GO only supports max native 1080P? To get 4K we will need to use DSR?

Get a 1080p gsync monitor

You should sli your gtx780

Unless u can sell Ur gtx780 then you shouldn't get a 980

Its 10% improvement not worth it..

“It would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.”
