I BET U CAN GUESS WHO SAYS THAT 11520x2160p (AKA 3x4K=12k) Gaming is achievable with "(blank)" system

Yup you are correct.... it was... ALIENWARE. With their new super awesome, triangle shaped Desktop, based on the x99 chipset with a 5820k and with either 2x Gtx 780's, or 2x Gtx 980's, or 1 single gtx 980, or the Titan Z ("Alienware Recommended" no joke.lolz)

 

 

I was looking into the new Alienware 13 with it's external PCIe Enclosure, and came across the Area-51 (2014 ed.), yes I saw it earlier this year, but check this... (copied and pasted from the Alienware webpage):

Just thought it was pretty funny, alienware's PR staff must be from a different galaxy, or atleast I really hope so... due to the vastly exaggerated promotion "schemes" ever so abundant.

if you even want to try and run triple 4x you need 4 way sli 980 with watercooling and balls to the walla overclocking

well, it IS possible, just not at high (maybe even medium) settings. I wouldn't do it with an alienware though :P

25 FPS at low settings on a Titan Z. Due to the way SLI scaling works, even quad-SLI 980s will be just barely enough for 40FPS in today's games at 12K low settings.

^ This. Alienware is full of marketing gimmicks and somehow people believe them.. Their systems are WAY overpriced for what you get, I miss the older cases such as those from the Aurora series, but the Area-51 series now looks fugly.. It is a triangle with its corners cut off and called a case. Ew.

Can they really call that 12K? They are only increasing the horizontal resolution and not the vertical one. If they really wanted 12K then they would need 9 4K monitors. 12K is three times the horizontal resolution and 3 times the vertical.
