Bose A2E + ModMic or standalone headset?

MasonIsPurple

Hey guys! So I have a pair of Bose A2Es and I love how light and soft they are. I was wondering if it would be better to get a ModMic from Antlion or a standalone headset like the Func HS-260 or HyperX Cloud. I'm not an audiophile by any means, I just want some suggestions from people who know what they're talking about.

Also, I don't have an Amp or DAC, so nothing too power hungry.

I could be very wrong

Are there other options that won't break the bank?

I Like ModMics, my brother has one and sounds great. Not like a desktop mic, but pretty close, and when you are on teamspeak, none of that matters anyway.

Plus, the owner of modmic met up with us in person to deliver the mic, pretty cool guy.

I have Cherry MX Blue switches. Will those make a racket in a desk mic?

Yes, yes they will. A desk mic, especially if it is a Condenser microphone will pick up everything you do. And I do mean everything. Mine even picks up the scroll wheel of my G502.

So I would suggest getting something not quite so sensitive.

Actually, you would have to lean in and speak right next to the blue snowball for it to pick you up. Anything further than 1 foot away will sound quiet.

Sound: Custom one pros, Audioengine A5+ with S8 sub.

This is true.

It's kindof like this. Taps and Noises are very loud. But in order to hear your SPEECH legibly, you need to be close. Same way morse code can be used on the radio with very little power from massive distances, but actual speech takes more radio power and shorter distances.

The zalman clip on is decent if you don't want to spend much but it will pick up your keyboard. The modmic is really nice and it's good at noise cancellation.
