Question about case's fan controls

AdmiralWen

Most modern cases come with fan manual fan controls on the front pannel. I'm just a little fuzzy about how they're suppose to work. My impression is that you have two options: 1) Ignore the fan control and plug the case fans directly into the motherboard, or 2) Connect the case fans to the fan control, then connect the fan control to the PSU using a molex cable. In the second option, your case fans wouldn't be connected to the mobo, and you'd control their speeds manually through the front panel.

Am I correct?

Correctomundo. Although i do have an issue with my built in controller, it powers the fans but doesn't seem to control them much haha Oh well, i don't really need to control the intake fans.
