Am i able to avoid a specific router in my ISP's network?

Alterlai

Hi,

I've been having some ping issues lately. So i took it upon myself to find out what's wrong.

Appearently when i ping to certain locations, in which the packets pass a certain router in my ISP's network, it messes up the ping time.

I've got a screenshot here to demonstrate the situation

As you can see, the routing between my computer to the second ISP router is fine. Untill it passes the underlined router. When i'm pinging in another direction, for example east instead of west, it doesn't pass through that router which means my ping is fine (~20).

Is there a way for me to avoid that specific router in any way to make sure my routes are optimal?

Obviously i prefer having 20 ping instead of 90 :)

Thanks.

No, there is no way to route around that router. Your ISP would have to fix this.

VPN

Edit: or complain to your ISP. Threaten to switch to a competitor if they don't fix it.

As others have said, sadly there isn't really a way other than to complain to your ISP (there may actually be a potential issue that they don't know about causing the issue) and get them to fix it.

I've called them about this yesterday. I got some women on the line who kept recommending me that i should hard reset my modem. Even though i explained to her what's going on. When she wanted me to try another computer i just hung up.
