X99 Upgrade?

Should I upgrade to Intel's X99 platform and 8 core CPU for the new Assassin's Creed Unity game next month? Am only considering this as I've heard it'll take advantage of extra threads.

Don't think you should be using 2011 for gaming... 4 Cores is all you need now.

I personally wouldn't, It will need a lot of threads because it will probably be a bad port.

What.

What.

What.

If you're going to upgrade to X99 for ubisoft, your priorities are not in check.

Rather go high-end Z97 than Low/Mid-end X99 for now. There's very little benefit in games right now.

That'd be a rather large waste of money to spend on what look to be a very poorly PC optimised port.

Yeah nah. Mainstream socket for games. :D

what?

an i5 is all you need for gaming, unless you're planning to do something else while you game, i suggest you don't waste your money :) as an 3930k owner i know for a fact it doesn't do anything while i'm gaming unless i'm rendering videos while i game ;)

Didn't catch that bit. He mentioned x99 in a previous post though. Thanks.

If you are only doing it for that game. No you shouldn't be deceived by ridiculous propaganda. A fully upgraded z97 will do fine.

If you are trolling or will use it to for something else, if you can afford it then sure.
