SSDs for game cartridges?

So I'm not sure if this should be under console gaming but it seems more of an ssd type discussion. For a while now I've wondered if in the coming years as the price of ssds fall, if it would be a better option for game console manufacturers to put games on cartridges. They're faster and much more durable than cds and plus that feeling when a cartridge slides into the connector, godamn it's good. Just wanted to hear your opinions on the subject.

That is never going to happen as they already don't like physical distribution already. You are talking about instead of the price of making a blur ray disc making a low capacity ssd to put games on. Even if the pricing of ssd drops dramatically it will never catch up to blurays before the idea of a console becomes obsolete. I suspect digital distribution will be the only method  by next generation if there is a next generation at all. Considering where the power of a the consoles lay we might have an early generation come 4-5 years.

Digital is cheaper than physical, it'd be pointless to make cartridges again.
