Anticipating the 980 Ti

Steinway

So this thread is as the name suggests. I'm really holding out for the 980 Ti for my next build, but I'm looking to see if anyone has any thoughts regarding whether we will get to see it.

Personally I don't see why Nvidia wouldn't release a Ti version, they've done it for the past two generations as a flagship card (Ignoring Titan) and I think it would just be odd if they didn't.

Push-To-Talk is a wonderful thing.

They will release something better than a 980 eventually. The card they are rumored to be preparing for a Q4 launch this year will probably not be a GTX card for gaming, but I estimate that some time within the 2015 year they will have a new top-end GPU.

That's another point actually, what's AMD up to these days? I always choose my hardware based on performance where possible, but I'm not sure AMD's next series will be able to match the performance and power usage of Nvidia's current lineup.

According to rumors the R9 380x is suppose to beat the 980.

There's been a few wild rumors that it'll feature 3D flash in their next card, much like Pascal. So, if that's true, it's possible.

However only time will tell. Maybe they're trying to get retailers to blow out all of their current cards because the ones they're coming out with are so vastly improved that no one will want the 200 series.

Last two generations? yeah sure they have the 660 ti... but there isn't a Flagship tifor the 600 series; only series that had it was 700 series. if it was coming anytime soon we would have seen so by now.

My bad, had a bit of a lapse there.
