Asus Z97 AR issues

So I made a post about the Asus Z97 AR having issues about PCIE 3.0x16.
The trouble I'm having is, when the card runs in 3.0 mode, or just leaving the settings on Auto in the BIOS, games stutter badly and audio is distorted. But when I switch everything in the bios to run at 2.0 everything is fine.
is there someothing I'm missing?
I have a GTX 770 also, so I know it runs at 3.0. I've even tried different cards and they all do the same thing.
What do?

Just leave it at 2.0? Today's graphics cards barely max out PCI-E 2.0 bandwidth. So there's no need ATM for 3.0.

Eh, whatever, just set it so it works and leave it there. PCIe 2.0 x16 won't bottleneck any GPU on the market today, never mind a 770.

leave it at 2.0

there is no advantage to having 3.0 speeds with one GPU

I know, it just really irks me that I payed for this and can't fully use all the features. What if I need 3.0 later on?

Yea, it just sucks I can't "fully use it". I mena if I payed for it, I should be able to do 3.0.

Try updating your BIOS. Or updating your GPU drivers.

On Asus website, there are 2 different bios versions, some for AR and some for A.

Should I get the newest A bios?

Chances are that if they make a special bios for the AR version, the A one won't officially work with your Mobo.

I got the A one since it was newer and someone was telling me that they're both sister mobos, only difference is color scheme and AR missing VGA ports

So nobody else knows? Should I reset cmos and if so, how do I do it?

The A and AR use the same bios you're fine

The latest is 2012

Yea I kinda figured. This problem just really, really bugs me to the point where I'm considering buying a new motherboard because of something so tiny.
