Bioshock Infinite supposed to act like this?

So when I play this, it seems that my framerate is either locked to 30FPS, or 60FPS. Even if I'm capable of getting 45, it will stay at 30. Is this supposed to happen... Or no? Running the latest AMD drivers (14.9, I think, was running 8.0 and it was worse) and Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit.

Yeah it does that and it's annoying... I believe restarting the game will fix it sometimes.

Tried it a ton of times and it didn't seem to do anything.

You can't turn it off... And even then it snaps between 30 and 60, even though my refresh rate can go to 75 at the craptastic resolution I have to run it at.

If you're running 14.9 I'd go back to 14.4 stable. I've experienced and heard of lots of problems with 14.9.x beta drivers and I wouldn't really recommend using them.

I'm running the 14.9 stable ones. Even then I had the same issue with 8.0 before, even though it ran worse.

never had that issue. Then again I never had to deal with frames below 80-100 on that game.

update to 14.9.1 or 14.7. But yeah its framerates that are weird in that game.

Can you enable vsync through catalyst control? See if that is active? I don't know much about catalyst, but I can't imagine the issue being anything other than vsync.

Definitely not, I have never seen a frame cap on it, as when I turned off vsync I remember getting well into the 200fps range.

I don't know anything of it, there is a setting in the graphics options that says lock frame rate, if that is disable it would have to be driver related I would think.

Your specs ? Also I run it always at 100 FPS range on my 760 Overclocked.

You can turn off V-Sync in Bioshock infinite you just need to go to advanced or manual graphical settings not presents.
