750W Gold is still more then enough as long as it's not an RM

You're not helping. I had a friend do an almost identical build (2600K with two 780 Ti) and he bought a Corsair RM750 without telling me first. He wanted to stick with it and I let him, two weeks later the PSU went bad and ended up frying one of his SSDs.

I've had an RM running for almost a year now, and it's been fine. I dont get the whole clan against the RM line.

I could be very wrong

G2 750 from evga is what i would get otherwise it would be the EVGA B2 bronze 850W.

Just because you have 1 bad experience with an RM series PSU, doesn't mean you have to whine about it saying it's crap. My RM 850 is working fine, and is the best PSU i have ever owned.

Main PC: Core i5 4670 | MSI Mpower Max z87 | G.Skill Ripjaws 2x4gb | Stock intel cooler | PNY GTX 770 2gb (hoping to upgrade) | Seagate 1tb 7200rpm | Corsair RM850 | Corsair Carbide Air 540 | PCCG custom sleeved black/yellow extensions | Corsair K70 Cherry MX Blue | Corsair M45 |

Phone: LG Nexus 5 | Headphones: Audio Technica ATH-PDG1, Shure SRH440 | Laptop: Asus 303la (i5 model, 1600x900 res) | Motorbikes: 2004 Sherco 290i, 2013 Husqvarna CR125 | Xbox one

Uhh.. there is lots of evidence that's been established that proves RMs aren't amazing in terms of quality.

It's only the people who buy into the hype of the RM that defend them being good purchases.

750G2 is a rock solid PSU. It will handle dual 780 Tis perfectly fine, definitely get it over the 850B2.

Okay?

Some people just prefer not to pay a lot of money and get a cheap product in return.

If I'm going to pay more then what a 750G2 costs for an RM750, I'd expect it to have at least have better voltage regulation then the CX750

Chances are, the OP isn't able to get an RM850 for $100 new.....

Even then, an EVGA 850G2 is $100 new. Guess which is better.

Max load I've seen is 600W with my 3930K (stock) & two 780's (63mVt overvolt/83MHz core oc/200MHz memory): http://i.imgur.com/SUK15QZ.jpg
So yeah a 750/850w psu is plenty.

OP is not getting the RM and quit about it. Also can we stop bashing them like theyre firework classified?

Gold efficiency allows for a more relaxed fan profile to have less noise though. Also the price difference between the 850 G2/850 B2 is just 20$, I'd go with the 750 G2/850G2.

What the heck? CX750 is better than a RM 750.....in the voltage regulation @12V

PS i already know about the second tier capacitors on the RM

We have already answered the OPs question regarding the PSUs he is getting so please read the thread before intersecting.

Keep in mind the B2 is based off Super Flower's lower end Golden Green platform while the G2 is based off the Leadex platform, which uses higher quality components.

It's better in voltage regulation at 5V and 3.3V as well.

Open for CX > RM

Pretty sure the OP was already aware of it being SF.

Open for CX > RM

A 0.1-0.2% difference, there's more than just vreg alone. The 5V rail isn't relevant, no motherboards these days use a 20pin cable. And no a CX is never > RM. http://tpucdn.com/reviews/Corsair/RM750/images/perf.gif

We were talking about vreg in humor as to how the CX was better in that regard, of course everyone knows an RM is better in general then a CX (albeit only by 6.7% overall). Not sure why you were taking me literally, or moderating the thread in the first place.

It's hit or miss. Not 100% failure rate.

I still have my RM650. I hit it's max efficiency daily (~50%) Which is right at the danger point for the RM series. (Fan not on when it should be)

In humor? Whenever the word RM drops Ive seen you bashing them which you clearly did again here.

Which you could make up. Nobody will take this serious if you don't have any proof. Lets look at this PSU which was given by HardOCP a gold award, the reviewer who gave the RM series a fail award. (You're not getting a bronze award easily, the AX1200i didn't get any awards) http://www.hardocp.com/article/2007/08/24/ultra_x3_1600w_power_supply/9#.VExeKx2G_7s

Lets look at what it caused (Phaedrus well known PSU guy at OCN who works for CM now); http://www.overclock.net/t/944707/why-single-rail-is-not-better-than-multi-rail/0_100

There are Delta's that went BANG, a 1300 G2 I've seen on youtube that BANGED, ax1200i's a servergrade psu that banged doesn't mean they are bad psu's.
