nvidia geforce experience... Do I need it.

LunaticGTX460

so everytime I update my drivers... I never install anything except base drivers and physx
not even hd audio driver cause I use external DAC

my question is, do I need geforce experience... does it do anything to optimize games that I can't do.
or is it only for shadowplay and lazy people who do not want to waste 2 minutes going to the options menu and customizing the graphics...?

thank you

it does more than just optimize, shadow play, game stream, automatic driver updates, Twitch streaming.

I check daily for new drivers... so I don't need that.

also I do not install drivers on old drivers.

I use DDU first

don't need shadowplay

I never stream anything

i install new drivers manually

I just wanted to know if the optimization is doing something that I can't manually.

also how much  system resources does the geforce experience use ?

thank you

almost no ressources, the pc in your sig is PLENTY powerfull enough to not feel such a small piece of software running in the background.

can this software use game files like config.ini's and xml files to unlock framerates and other stuff like that.
or is it just a glorified control panel

I would use it only for ShadowPlay. As far as game optimization, I like experimenting with a game's settings to see how each one affects the framerate.

it does not unlock framerates for the games that you have to manualy unlock no, but it can do lots of good stuff and it has never been this easy to remove old/install new drivers cleanly, it also make sure you are always up to date and soon will allow you to use DSR straight on and allow you to record gaming footage with one click.

i use it for shadowplay the optimization not so much since sometimes it turns on motion blur when i hate motion blur plus some other settings involving blurring.

Geforce Experience gave me a lot of headaches. Random BSOD's when activating Shadowplay, unknown errors and stuff. Thanks to that I met Rivatuner Statistics Server, I learned how to set it up and display anything I wanted.

Now I need it because my G1 Gaming has a LED, and I don't like it at full bright, Geforce Experience is the only thing that can configure the light.

Anyways it's a great piece of software when it's working. Disable your iGPU (that was my problem) and always delete everything from Nvidia (Driver, PhysyX, GFE) from Safe Mode when installing new drivers, just to be sure.

I had to install the same Nvidia driver 5 times today because I was getting a BSOD when activating Shadowplay.
