Virus: randomly disables m/kb, needs a restard

Hello LTT Forum,

I have a virus that will randomly disable my mouse and keyboard and I need to hard reset my computer to regain control. I have run an avg scan and a malwarebytes scan, nothing comes up. I need some help with this issue as it is extremely annoying and I can not find a solution anywhere on the internet. Please no joke responses. Thank you all.

its not a virus

its your drivers crashing

when your mouse and keyboard stop working, do they stop at the same time? what happens if you replug them in the USB port? what if you plug a USB drive in while the mouse and keyboard are disabled?

I don't think it's a Virus as what they said above it could be a driver problem

They stop at the same time, like clockwork, everytime it happens.

Sounds like a wonky USB issue. Try re-installing, or updating your USB drivers.

have you tried unplugging them and plugging them back in?

have you tried using a USB drive while your keyboard and mouse are not working?

have you tried reinstalling your motherboard USB drivers?

are you using USB2 or 3?

Usually, unless the product is "rated" for USB 3, using USB 2 doesn't do much.

I'm probably playing a game right now...
