Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

WillFromGA

This is my first review pretty much ever and it is on the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo. I am not even going to look to check if there is already one out there because I know there is but mine is specifically for Folding. I give you the temperatures that I got while using a stock clocked/heat sink with a AMD FX 4300. Then compare it to a stock clock and Hyper 212 Evo.

Here we go

Stock clock and heat sink

Computer idling: Cpu Usage: 3-5% - Temperature: 50C - Estimated PPD: 0

              Light Power:       Cpu Usage:53-56% - Temperature: 58C - Estimated PPD: 3230

              Medium Power:  Cpu Usage: 78-82% - Temperature: 61C - Estimated PPD: 15000

Full Power:         Cpu Usage: 100% - Temperature: 66C - Estimated PPD: 14500 (Don't know why??? Makes no sense but that is it)

Stock clock with Hyper 212 Evo

Computer idling: Cpu Usage: 5-8% - Temperature: 4C

Full Power:         Cpu Usage: 100% - Temperature: 30C

8c9ce25c5b56ac6f833284c0eed95536.png

I can add things the more I test out the cooler but as of now, I am VERY satisfied and worth every penny of $33.49.

Edits:

#1: It is Fall in southern America. According to my phone (AccuWeather.com) it is 73F(22C) outside. In my house, the thermastate is set to a constant 76F(24C).

That's pretty broken

Isn't that awfully common with AMD CPUs? Atleast from my experience it is

What do you mean "broken"? HWMonitor?

You can't have temperatures below ambient / room temperature.

That's going against the very laws of science and physics.

Comparing my HWMonitor readings to yours,

  • TMPIN0 = CPU
  • TMPIN1 = Mainboard
  • TMPIN2 = TMPIN2 = some random 120*C thing

some random 120*C thing

That just means the sensor exists but isn't wired up to anything, so it's 128c by default

Really...

I'm wondering...if I could put it any use. Of course, given that it isn't within the CPU and somewhere more accessible.

No, sadly it's not accessible.
