What should I do to my PC?

I need some help from the forum as I'm being indecisive.

I think I can spend about 300 euros on my rig.

Full list is on my profile but the things I want to eventually or now change is GPU(HD 7770), CPU(phenom II x4) and Mobo.

My goal is just to increase gaming performance.

I've gathered a few options:

1. r9 290 for 310-330 euros

2. msi Gaming r9 290x for 360 euros

3. Any gtx 970 for 360 euros max

4. fx 8320 and a r9 280 for about 340 euros

5. pentium g3258(aka anniversary edition), some nice mATX mobo for it and an r9 280 for about 340 euros.

6. Just upgrade CPU + mobo

I also made a poll, but voting isn't necessary, posting is just fine if you can dedicate the time for that.

Thanks.

That would leave about 200 euros for a mobo and a gpu.

I don't think that'd be much of an improvement on the GPU side.

Unless I just wanted to upgrade my CPU.

I'll actually add that to the list.

i5 4460 + r9 280X  :) should be under 400 euros (i5 = 160 euros and 280X = 215 (depends on which one, the asus one costs 215 here in austria) total being 375)

I think that there is no use to upgrade to such a nice GPU without upgrading your CPU because its going to most likely bottleneck your gpu. I vote for 4th option. Just make sure you get a good mobo with 8320. I got it myself and OCed at 4.2Ghz and it runs pretty nice.

Where am I going to get that 50 euro motherboard? I can get a sapphire one for 184 here.

I don't think I can actually get a mobo for that in my budget.

I was thinking of using my current crappy, but should be supported mobo.

Are you only gonna use it for gaming? if so then upgrading the gpu will help alot.

Asrock 970de3/u3s3

And I actually might've fucked up since it probably supports the first gen 8 cores, not the good ones.

@killerdann12

Gaming would be the hardest thing I use it for.

Ok... Better don't use it with FX-8XXX CPUs because that motherboard doesn't have a VRM heatsink. Im running 78LMT-USB3 motherboard which is 760G chipset but at least it has proper VRM cooling and it does feel quite warm to touch with my 8320...

Then upgrading the gpu right now  would give you the highest performance gain for now.

It's probably the ridiculous amounts of life advice threads on this forum that made your head spin.

Hmmm... Do you still have warranty for it? Maybe you can RMA it?

Getting a new cpu is always nice but going to a 270x wouldn't be big enough of an upgrade imo.

Or maybe I'm just delusional in my GPU requirements.

That's an option. Too bad I can't get really anything better until I go to about 300 euros( GPU)
