By how it's going I think the GPU's you can buy today WILL be enough for 1080p games, but not for 4k anyway so we will have to upgrade.

Well, I just bought a 680 so I hope I'll be good at up to 3x1080p.

Superresolution might be fun though.

by the end of 2015 or the end of 2016-17 it wont be anymore. im sure by that time, way more ppl can afford 4k-5k and new cards  will come up, and all console kids will make pc's for 1080 ultra settings with 3gb vram cards.

it's not enough for 2014 if you ask me...i'm constantly capping out my VRAM and many recent titles at 1080p...that's the reason i wont go SLI.

watchdogs, shawdow of mordor, skyrim, dead rising 3, the evil within and project cars.

Many future games to come will be even worst i'm sure.

I'd say no, it may be enough for 1080p but I'm already hitting the 3gb wall at 1440p forcing me to turn down some settings in Shadow of Mordor to avoid major frame drops and I'd imagine the trend is going to continue.
