The cheapest and most reliable PSU

Involution
Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

The few PSU that are within my current price range are

, Antec VP Series (http://www.antec.com/product.php?id=706329&fid=5022051&lan=nz)

, Corsair (http://www.corsair.com/en/vs-seriestm-vs450-450-watt-power-supply)

, Cooler Master (http://www.coolermaster.com/powersupply/g-series/g500/)

, Thermaltake (http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00001857).

The price of these few PSU are around / below $50 . I just took a price list from a random computer parts vendor near my house .

Out of the list, the vp500p is the best.

Hi , I will be using this rig as a workstation . Wont be having any GPU at the moment and might get a low end GPU if needed as I wont using it as a gaming computer .

My rig consist :-

Motherboard : Asus H97m-e

CPU : i5-4690

GPU : -

Ram : HyperX Fury 1600mhz 8gb

SSD : 840 EVO 120gb

I am now on a very tight budget so I am actually looking at these few PSU : Cooler Master GX 500W (http://www.coolermaster.com/service/support/model/RS-500-ASAB/) , Corsair VS 450W  , Antec VP500 (http://www.antec.com/product.php?id=706329&fid=5022051&lan=nz) .

Which is the best among these 3 and if there are other PSU that have the same price , please do recommend .

P/S : Reliability is the priority.

Get corsair.

Btw, how about Seasonic? Too high price?

Its around 2 times the price from the few listed.

Location please.

If there is the XFX 450W Core Edition, it gets my vote ;)

I am from Malaysia . I dont think they do have XFX here.

Wanted EVGA as the reviews are awesome. But from where I stay they dont have EVGA PSU . TT

It's always saddening when I get the chance to recommend evga but then find out they don't offer it pretty much anywhere. It's downright the best brand of psu for the money over here. Other companies typically charge almost double for the same quality as say...the g2 series.

I wont be shopping online . Will go to the store directly to buy parts. Online shopping in Malaysia is still not well established due to delivery issues .

In that case, is there a parts/price list you give us?

Nope , I did not provide any price list . But used online website as reference , such as Amazon . Just needed recommendation for PSU within that price range that is both reliable and cheap.

Pricing and availability varies depending on where you're shopping. Perhaps you can narrow it down by listing the brands of psus available?
