Choosing CPU and motherboard on budget

I shall start off with my current specs -

CPU - Phenom II x4 840

GPU - r9 280x

Mobo - Biostar (....)

2 x Hard drives

1 x 120gb SSD

8Gb ram

So I have 200-300 pounds (320-480 dollars and keep in mind that UK prices are about 10-30% more than US prices) to spend on a CPU, motherboard and maybe a CPU cooler.

My first thoughts were an 8350 cooled by a phanteks ph-tc14pe and an MSI gaming motherboard however I am 100% open to suggestions and that's why I'm opening this thread.

New to the forum so no hate  :P

You could get a better MOBO on the intel one but that ones fine.

No way in hell you can get that in your budget: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NVmtNG And that doesnt even include other important things like a power supply and case and peripherals

Well I already HAVE the computer, those are my actual specs - that's why it says "current" :P

indeed, it can take literally any cooler on market. Love this case, but its expensive.

get the lucifer it has great reviews, huge cooler for cheap, for the money you can get only phanteks 12 cm fan

you wont have color coordinated components but performance matters

Considering i have an MSI r9 280x, the MSI gaming motherboard would look nice with that, although I can't get past the phanteks cooler's gorgeous looks; I'll consider the lucifer cooler
