Sid Meier's Civilisation Beyond Earth Thread

Just wondering how are you guys liking the game so far? And your thoughts on the new affinities?

Supremacy affinity is my favourite with the CNDR being the perfect early game unit to kill the siege worm for the achievement.

I played peacefully as harmony and found that I won really easily be keeping to myself. Supremacy is great with the CNDR, I can take cities so easily with a few of them. It all just depends on what I have nearby, xenomass, floatstone or firaxite.

I'm really enjoying the game so far, games are easily to follow and the new mechanics are easy to get used to. I just need to try some other victories and units and I should be satisfied.

My supremacy cities and a nice surprise for deciding not to deflect the asteroid:

Asteroid strike:Fact: CNDR units can withstand asteroids and one-hit kill. Easy for achievement hunting (siege worm (took 3 hits) and one hit kill achievements)

somehow i dont enjoy it as much as civ 5, it's like i dont have a clue what units or building i build really get me, i feel like in civ 5 everything was either self explanatory by names or information was presented better to me :S

i was so hyped for this game and now im like: meh lets continue civ5

I almost feel the same way as you, but after winning a match through harmony I Understand it a little more. The more you play the more you will understand.

The game feels a lot like civ 5, but has a good amount of differences too. It's really good how they decided to make the game like that.

So far I like it and I'm actually about to start livestreaming in about a hour. I'm not asking for you guys to watch, but if you want to watch you are welcome to come in. http://www.twitch.tv/skcorpion86

Like Civ5 it has issues in conveying information. I keep forgetting stuff all the time. The camera still drags me around the map that it game me a headache after a few games. Also, they should have kept the leaders from previous Civ games (imagine space vikings and Gandhi in a space suite). I still don't remember the names of the leaders and sponsors.

Though, I find micromanagement to be tame compared to Civ5.
