As long as the pump inlet is still constantly fed with coolant, you should be fine.

so i just bouth an ek-xres 140 d5 pump res combo. so i would want to know that can i mount it side ways like lay it down?

@pege0 after the loop is full and your res is 95% full, shouldn't be an issue.
