Opinions about this rig ?

Hey Guys,

first of all, greetings from Germany! Please forgive me my language mistakes. ;) I am planning on building myself a new rig for Christmas. And well, I choose my  components already and wanted to hear some Opinions about it. :-) I definitly want DDR4 RAM, i know its actually too expensive but: I want this, because of reasons !! And the most important thing for me is that I can ceep this PC as long as possible. I will use it for gaming and all sorts of content creating: software, grafiks, video etc.

Here we go:

Case:

Corsair Obsidian 750d

http://www.alternate.co.uk/Corsair/Obsidian-750D/html/product/1096

Because I might add Watercooling at some point and i like the look.

Motherboard:

MSI X99 SLI PLUS

http://www.alternate.co.uk/MSI/X99S-SLI-PLUS/html/product/1154596?

I only read good things about this one and its the least expensive 2011-3 board.

CPU:

Intel i7-5820K

http://www.alternate.co.uk/Intel®/i7-5820K/html/product/1147052?

Because 2011-3 and DDR4.

RAM:

G.Skill Ripjaws 16GB DDR4-2133

http://www.alternate.co.uk/G-Skill/Ripjaws-16GB-DDR4-2133Mhz/html/product/1154829?

Well, they are not as expensive as the ADATA ones, but would the better timeings on the ADATA-RAMS be worth it ?

GPU:

Sapphire R9 290 OC Vapor-X TRI-X

http://www.alternate.co.uk/SAPPHIRE/R9-290-OC-Vapor-X-TRI-X-4-GB-GDDR5/html/product/1125738?

I like AMD cards, i know about the powerconsumption but the price/performance seems fine to me. ( And i will get 4 Games for free xD

PSU:

be quiet! Pure Power L8 CM 530W

http://www.alternate.co.uk/be-quiet!/Pure-Power-L8-CM-530W/html/product/919904?

I only had good experiences with all be quiet! products.

CPU-Cooling:

EKL Alpenföhn Brocken 2

http://www.alternate.co.uk/Alpenf%C3%B6hn/Brocken-2/html/product/1055179?

Only read good things about this one, and it wont hurt that much, in case i would replace it with any watercooling.

SSD: (maybe later)

Samsung 840 EVO 2,5 250GB

http://www.alternate.co.uk/Alpenf%C3%B6hn/Brocken-2/html/product/1055179?

Seems to be a good one. :D

Optical drive & Harddrive:

Got those already.

I know these links are from a british onlineshop but they also have a german version. I chose it for the language.

Would love to hear Opinions and ideas. :)

Welcome to the forum :D

If you can, please use PCPartpicker, it also has a german version :D

Also, you might want to look at GTX 970, but i don't know the prices there...

Also, the minimum required PSU (recommended by AMD) for 290 is 750W, but as far as i know, there's almost no way that  530W won't be enough for it... That said, look at EVGA PSU's :D

Prices for 970 in europe are around 350 average and 290 are around 290 euros xD. So yes upgrading to an 970 might be a nice option also 212 EVO Coolermaster is a CPU cooler which you might look at. The Samsung EVO is good but for 40 pounds less you can get the MX100 Crucial which is the same size and is just as good, only has lower write speed and a little bit higher read. Just know these are my opinions take more in consideration  .

You'll need an external DVD drive to install an OS to if you plan on booting from the disc. If not a USB flash drive with the OS on it would be great. This PC will be super quiet and cool. The GPU will be rather toasty but that's Hawaii for you.

First of all: thx for all these onlineshops :D I actually wanted to order at Mindfactory.de (best prices).

The build:

Case: I just cant make friends with this case :/ I simply need external slots.

PSU: Why is everyone trying to tear me away from be Quiet PSU´s ?

Video: I will have a closer look there.

RAM: You got a little traped there, this Amazon offer is not in stock for the next 2 months, and then it will be 450€ again, as all the others ;) You need to be really carefull with Amazon !!!
