Do i need a bigger PSU if i do this?

Go to solution Solved by AlwaysFSX,

will it still be fine to run PSU at 75-85% ? with a bronze 80+

That's when it's most efficient.

Remember Maxwell cards draw so little power that a 750w PSU is overkill for SLI and overclocking.

Even with Kepler cards it wasn't necessary.

I have thought about upgrading to SLI x2 970's. Will i be able to run it with this setup with the PSU i curently own? I will keep cpu at 4,6 and Ram at 1866.

The power supply is enough. You'll be drawing under 500W at a full load.

No. Well i don't think so, but someone will correct me. I recommend 750w at the least, but 850w for OC'ing stuff. That's what i was told when i was a PC n00b.

Main PC: Core i5 4670 | MSI Mpower Max z87 | G.Skill Ripjaws 2x4gb | Stock intel cooler | PNY GTX 770 2gb (hoping to upgrade) | Seagate 1tb 7200rpm | Corsair RM850 | Corsair Carbide Air 540 | PCCG custom sleeved black/yellow extensions | Corsair K70 Cherry MX Blue | Corsair M45 |

Phone: LG Nexus 5 | Headphones: Audio Technica ATH-PDG1, Shure SRH440 | Laptop: Asus 303la (i5 model, 1600x900 res) | Motorbikes: 2004 Sherco 290i, 2013 Husqvarna CR125 | Xbox one
