Surface Pro 3 lock screen wake on charger

I use a surface pro 3 and have been unable to find a way to disable the sort of "wake on charge" functionality. Basically when plugging or unplugging the ac power the device will (after a few seconds) wake up to display the lock screen. I hate this, but have been unable to find any discussion on this or really even a good term for the function.

Edit: cyanogenmod calls this "wake on plug".
