Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

I just got it installed and will have a review of it with folding temperatures vs stock cooling.

Too bad it doesn't(sorta) fit in my case...

I don't think it fits mine either but I don't put the side on anyway.

A Dremel would be better to use instead of a hammer.

I had this same problem with my parent's pc. I was gonna replace the stock heatsink which was failing with the 212 evo since its so good for the price, but it was just a little too tall for the case, so I had to go with the TX3 instead. Welp.

I don't understand why people buy Hyper 212s as replacements for stock coolers on CPUs that will never be overclocked. There's coolers like the Arctic Alpine 11 and Gelid Siberian to fill that task.

Folding 24/7, why did you think it was in the folding section?

Just don't try to cut the end of the heat pipes off, it doesn't end well.

Because they're so good for the price. I would much rather pay an extra 15 bucks for a way over the top cooler than 15 bucks less for a "just good enough" cooler. If it's gonna last longer all  while being quieter and keeping my cpu cooler, why would I not go with it?

I'd actually expect the FDB fans in the Arctic Alpine 11 and Gelid Siberian to last longer then the one on the 212

Yes, the Artic ones are good - I have a couple and lower clearance then the Evo. But, for many stores, CM stuff is always in stock, Artic, not so much. Hence why they more popular I think...
